Padel on the Murcia Golf Resorts: Where to Play (2026)

Most of Murcia's established golf resorts have padel courts. Mar Menor Golf has seven glass courts open from 08:00 to 23:00, Condado de Alhama has six floodlit courts, Roda Golf has five, and La Torre and El Valle both have padel alongside tennis. It's inexpensive, sociable and quick to learn, which makes it a natural partner to golf.
Why is padel such a big part of resort life in Murcia?
Because it's the sport that gets everyone playing. Plenty of couples who buy on the resorts have one half sold on the golf and the other with no plans to take it up. Padel is often what the second person ends up loving.
Spain is padel's heartland. According to the FIP World Padel Report 2025, Spain had roughly 17,000 to 18,000 courts in early 2025, and there were more than 77,000 courts and over 35 million players worldwide. On the Murcia resorts it has become as much a part of the day as the morning coffee: a game at nine, a drink at the club bar afterwards, and plans made for the next one.
Which Murcia golf resorts have padel courts?
The table shows what the resorts and clubs list. Courts do get added and upgraded, so check with the club before you travel.
| Resort | Padel | Tennis | Good to know |
| Mar Menor Golf | 7 glass courts, LED lighting | Not listed | Open 08:00-23:00 daily, lessons and group classes |
| Condado de Alhama | 6, floodlit | 2, floodlit | Club bar and food between the courts |
| Roda Golf & Beach | 5 | Not listed | Near the Mar Menor at San Javier |
| El Valle Golf | Yes, open 24 hours | Yes, open 24 hours | Indoor gym and outdoor fitness area on site |
| La Torre Golf | 2 | 2 | Alongside the resort's pools and restaurants |
| Hacienda del Álamo | Yes, at the sports club | Yes | Next to our Omala Residences |
Mar Menor and Condado de Alhama stand out. Six or seven courts is proper club scale, which means social groups and plenty of people to play with.
Floodlighting is the other thing to look for. Lit courts at Condado, Mar Menor and El Valle mean you can play in the cool of a summer evening or after dark in December.
How much does padel cost in Murcia?
Very little. At Mar Menor Golf, the club's published rate is €5 per person with a minimum of €20 per court per hour, so four friends play for an hour for €20 between them.
Clubs usually price per court for 60 or 90 minutes, split between four players. Booking arrangements differ from resort to resort, so ask when you visit how it works where you're staying. Either way, it's an inexpensive habit, so playing two or three times a week is easy.
Is padel easy to learn if you've never played tennis?
Yes, and that's the secret of its success with people in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.
- The court is smaller than a tennis court and fully enclosed, so you cover far less ground.
- The walls are in play. The ball comes back off the glass, rallies last longer and nobody spends the afternoon fetching balls.
- The serve is underarm, so there's no difficult overhead serve to master.
- It's almost always doubles, which makes it sociable from the first game.
Players of different standards can have a close, fun game together, which is rarely true in golf. Beginners pick up the basics quickly, and a lesson or two with a club coach speeds things up.
What's the best time of year to play padel in Murcia?
October to May is ideal, the same months that make up golf high season here. Winter days in Murcia are mild and bright, with January highs of around 16-17°C, so a mid-morning game in shirt sleeves is normal.
In July and August, owners simply move padel to early morning or evening. That's where floodlit courts earn their keep: Mar Menor's courts are open until 23:00, and a game at 21:00 in July, followed by dinner outside, is one of the pleasures of a Murcia summer.
Which MedSol developments are close to padel courts?
Our developments sit in the same part of Murcia as the resorts in the table, so there's always a court within a short drive.
- Omala Residences is at Hacienda del Álamo, whose sports club has padel and tennis courts.
- Alhama Nature is at Condado de Alhama, home to the six floodlit courts at the Condado Club.
- Corvera Hills and Santa Rosalia are within easy reach of the clubs around the Mar Menor and the Nicklaus resorts.
We know every development we sell on, so if padel matters to you we can tell you honestly which home puts you closest to the courts you'd use most. When you come out to view, bring your trainers. Booking a game is one of the best ways to see what everyday resort life feels like.
What else is there for the non-golfer?
Padel is often the start rather than the whole story. Mar Menor Golf also has mini golf, a gym and a heated pool. El Valle has an indoor gym and an outdoor fitness area. Condado de Alhama has tennis alongside its padel courts, and La Torre has communal pools spread across the resort. Add the Mar Menor beaches, walking in the Sierra Espuña and long lunches in Cartagena or Murcia city, and a non-golfing partner has plenty to fill the week.
