Corvera Hills Golf Is Coming Back: What It Means for Owners

Corvera Hills Golf is due to reopen in the last quarter of 2026 after a complete renovation. The 18-hole, par-72 course is getting new irrigation and drainage, a reshaped landscape and a modernised clubhouse with a restaurant. For owners, it puts golf back at the heart of the resort, minutes from Murcia's airport.

When does the Corvera Hills golf course reopen?

The official reopening is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026. That timing comes from the club's own announcement, reported by the Spanish golf trade press in February 2026, and the course's listing on Golf in Spain says the same: Corvera Hills Golf will open its doors at the end of 2026.

The club began its commercial operations in February 2026, so the business side is already up and running ahead of the first tee times.

The course has been resting while its new owners planned its renewal, and 2026 is the year that plan arrives.

What is being done to the course?

This is a full rebuild of the playing experience, not a lick of paint. A business consortium took on the project in 2023, and the work covers:

  • New irrigation and drainage systems across the course
  • A reshaped landscape, reconfiguring how the layout looks and plays
  • A modernised clubhouse with a restaurant and space for events
  • A new residential, commercial and hotel area around the course

The renovation is being led by course architect Harrison Minchew, who spent more than 25 years with the Arnold Palmer Design Company. When the course reopens it will be 18 holes, par 72 and 6,652 metres long.

What will golfers find when it opens?

According to the course listing, players can expect:

FacilityWhat's planned
Course18 holes, par 72, 6,652 m
PracticeDriving range and practice areas
ClubhousePro shop and restaurant
Getting roundBuggies and trolleys, including electric trolleys
ImprovingClub hire and lessons

A driving range and lessons matter more than people think. Plenty of couples who buy here have one keen golfer and one who has never swung a club, and a practice ground on the doorstep is often how the second one gets started.

What does the reopening mean for Corvera Hills owners?

Four things stand out.

Golf on your doorstep. You'll be able to walk or buggy to your own course rather than driving to one elsewhere. For a winter owner, that changes the whole week.

A clubhouse again. A resort's clubhouse is where people meet. A restaurant with a terrace over the course gives Corvera a natural place for Sunday lunch, a drink after the round and the owners' get-togethers that turn neighbours into friends.

Right on time for the season. A Q4 2026 reopening lands right at the start of golf high season in Murcia. October to May is when the region's courses are at their busiest, because July and August are too hot for most people to play much after mid-morning.

Getting in early. Buyers choosing a home now are picking plots and views while the course comes back into play around them.

Where is Corvera Hills, and how far is everything?

Corvera sits in the countryside south of Murcia city, right next to Región de Murcia International Airport. The airport handled 949,007 passengers in 2025, with winter flights from UK and Irish airports including Dublin, Manchester, Birmingham, Stansted, Gatwick, Luton and Bristol.

Land at lunchtime and you can be on your terrace before the afternoon is out. For owners who come out for long weekends through the winter, that short hop from the plane is a big part of Corvera's appeal.

How does this fit with the other golf news in Murcia?

Corvera isn't the only good news. At Condado de Alhama, the owner announced a €15 million plan in June 2025 to reopen the Jack Nicklaus Signature course alongside a five-star hotel, phased through 2026 and 2027.

Add the established courses nearby, such as La Torre, El Valle and Hacienda Riquelme (all Nicklaus designs run by GNK Golf) and Hacienda del Álamo next to our Omala Residences, and this corner of Murcia has one of the strongest clusters of golf in the region. A Corvera owner will have several courses within a short drive, with their home course at the centre.

Which homes at Corvera Hills look over the course?

That depends on the phase and the plot. Some homes face straight onto fairways, others look out over the surrounding hills.

We know every phase and plot we sell on at Corvera Hills, so we can tell you which available homes have the course views you're after and compare them honestly with the alternatives. The best way to judge is to stand on the terrace yourself, and we arrange and accompany viewing trips for exactly that. Once the course is back in play, an autumn or winter visit lets you see the resort as it will be lived in, with golfers out on the fairways and the clubhouse open.
